Read on to learn how three HomeKit-enabled accessories can help you make your hallway both more secure against unwanted visitors as well as safer by lighting up dark stairs to prevent accidents.

Monitor your front door

Enjoy a great sense of security simply by installing an indoor camera such as Eve Cam. When you’re out and about, you can then keep a watchful eye on your home. On top of that, the live stream from your camera lets you see all the comings and goings – plus you can even record those events. Then when you arrive home, Eve Cam will turn itself off automatically so you get to enjoy total privacy within your own four walls.

Have your entrance area and stairs light up automatically

Even when the camera is off, you can still set the integrated motion detector to remain vigilant for any movement. And once you combine Eve Cam with Eve Light Strip, the camera will open up a whole host of new possibilities. With Eve Cam and Eve Light Strip, your hallway will light up to welcome you home – and when you are at home, you’ll never have to stumble down the hallway again at night as you’ve got Eve Light Strip to illuminate the way. As soon as the front door is opened or motion is detected, the light comes on; you can even set the duration you want the light to remain on for.

And the best part: Whether you place your Eve Light Strip beneath a shoe shelf, behind a chest of drawers or mirror, or in a niche, the accessory will bathe your entrance area in an elegant ambience in any color and any brightness level you want – you can even flood your hallway with an ultra-bright 1800 lumens of light.

Secure that front door

A Nuki smart door lock provides even greater security. After all, just because a door is shut doesn’t mean it’s secure – it also needs to be locked. As soon as you shut your door, Nuki locks it. And it really comes into its own when you come home: You’ll be able to just stroll right up to the door and Nuki will unlock it without you ever needing to rummage through bags or pockets to pull out your iPhone. You can also treat other members of your household to this convenience simply by granting them access.

Please note: the Nuki lock is shipping within Europe only. To find the right lock for your area, please click here.
