It's a big disappointment that Elgato does not provide Thread support for products that have been released only little time ago, like Eve Door & Window 2nd generation oder Eve Thermo 2nd generation.If the "old" chips are not compatible, Elgato should at least provide massive discounts for switching to the newest generation of these products. I think it's not sustainable und customer-friendly that these products become unusable in a few years when Thread becomes the new and only thing and pure Bluetooth isn't supported by HomeKit any more.
