With Matter, Eve Thermo provides even more comfort in your home – thanks to the new smart home standard, your entire family can now set the temperature via Samsung SmartThings, Amazon Alexa or Google Home.
With the Eve Early Access Program, you'll be one of the first to upgrade Eve Thermo (4th generation) to Matter for free. Here's how it works:
The following features of Eve Thermo are currently not supported after upgrading to Matter:
Please note: Once you've upgraded your device to Matter, you can't migrate it back to HomeKit. Upgrading to Matter is worthwhile if you want to control your Eve devices from an additional platform. This requires a Matter controller of this platform. If your household uses Apple devices exclusively, upgrading to Matter is optional.
Make sure that a hub is present in your network that also works as a Thread Border Router i.e. a HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini or an Apple TV 4K (2nd generation / 3rd generation 128 GB). Software version 17.4 (or newer) must be installed.
Updating the firmware of Eve Thermo (4th generation) to Matter requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS/iPadOS 17.4 (or later). Check under Settings > General > Software update to see whether you are up to date.
