New: Control Matter devices from Eve directly and locally from your iPhone, without a home hub
iOS 18 is a comprehensive update that contains a number of improvements for Eve devices under Apple Home. In particular, getting started is easier than ever: with iOS 18 and an iPhone 15 Pro (and later), selected Eve devices can now be added and controlled locally and directly. A home hub is not required.
Thanks to the Eve app, additional functions such as on-device schedules are available, allowing you to automate connected lights or devices to suit your daily routine – again, without a home hub. For even more advanced functionality such as remote access, automations and extended Thread range, you can add a home hub at any time and at a later time – without much effort and without any reconfiguration.
As of today, the following Eve devices with Matter support local control:
Eve Energy (Australia, 2nd generation)
Eve Energy (Europe, 4th generation)
Eve Energy (Switzerland)
Eve Energy (U.K., 3rd generation)
Eve Energy (U.S. & Canada, 4th generation)
Eve Energy Outdoor
Eve Energy Outlet
Eve Light Switch (U.S. & Canada, 3rd generation)
