Munich, March 19, 2024 - Eve, a prominent pioneer in the smart home industry worldwide and part of ABB, today announced the availability of the Eve Blinds Collection, a curated collection of customized blinds with Eve MotionBlinds technology that can be configured and ordered in Germany from Eve's online store. The combination of motorized shading and Matter and Thread technologies makes the Eve Blinds Collection a particularly innovative and future-proof solution.

Contemporary Fabrics, Motors with Matter
The roller blinds can be controlled using an iPhone, an Android device or voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant. A pull cord still enables manual operation. The Eve app makes it easy to create schedules that automate the blinds to suit one's daily routine. Because the Eve Blinds Collection is based on the future-proof Matter standard with state-of-the-art Thread network technology, each blind can be set up in just a few steps via the mobile app or the voice assistant of your preferred platform.
Eve proposes a range of three fabrics that offer excellent functional properties and harmonizes with any ambience thanks to their subtle textures. The semi-transparent Comfort Collection filters out daylight to create a cozy atmosphere. The blackout Comfort Collection ensures maximum privacy with a white backside. The silver-colored Solar Collection with its heat-insulating coating saves energy thanks to its optimal thermal properties.
Smart indoor climate thanks to adaptive shading
On Apple Home, Matter-compatible roller blinds with Eve MotionBlinds technology offer Adaptive Shading. The Eve app takes over hyperlocal programming of the Eve MotionBlinds motor, based on the location and orientation of the window. This allows it to open or close the blind dynamically depending on the position of the sun, helping to reduce heat loss and save energy costs in winter. Adaptive shading has just been awarded an Innovation Prize at the world's leading trade fair for shading, R+T in Stuttgart.

About Thread
Thread technology is specifically developed for smart home applications to improve connectivity between devices. Thread creates a mesh network, within which lights, thermostats, outlets, sensors, and more can also talk to each other free of the constraint of having to go through a bridge. If a single device fails, the data packets are simply relayed to the next in the mesh. In short: the network becomes more robust with every additional Thread device.
Mains-powered Thread devices that are always on, such as Eve Energy, Eve Energy Outlet and Eve Light Switch, can act as router nodes within the Thread network and relay data packets.
