Eve launches Matter version of Eve Weather smart weather station
Munich, Germany – July 18, 2024 – Eve Systems, a leading provider of smart home devices and part of ABB, today announced the availability of the Matter version of its Eve Weather smart weather station. Eve Weather comes in a sleek, water-resistant case and features a large display showing outdoor temperature, humidity and the local 12-hour weather trend. How warm and humid it is outside the front door can of course also be checked via the app or the voice assistant of each resident's preferred Matter platform. Users of an iPhone or iPad can use the Eve app to analyze, visualize and even export all measurements. The Matter version of Eve Weather costs 79.95 Euro. For Apple homes without a Matter controller, the HomeKit model is still available.
"Thanks to its hyperlocal weather sensor data, Eve Weather is irreplaceable in providing triggers and conditions for automations indoors and outdoors," says Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve. "It is beautiful to look at and, thanks to Matter technology, everyone can now benefit from its accurate readings, regardless of platform."
Stylish, precise, future-proof
Thanks to its IPX4 water resistance and elegant aluminum housing, Eve Weather can be used and displayed anywhere. Precise sensors measure temperature, humidity and air pressure - right on your doorstep. Simply ask the voice assistant for the outside temperature in the morning and then decide what to wear.
To display the weather trend for the next twelve hours, Eve Weather automatically analyzes local changes in air pressure. A glance at the display or the Eve app for iPhone and iPad will tell you whether it will be sunny or stay sunny, cloudy or rainy, or rainy and stormy. The Eve app for iPhone and iPad records and visualizes weather conditions over time - especially useful for gardening enthusiasts.
Thanks to Matter technology, other platforms can be connected so that everyone in the family can easily and securely access Eve Weather’s sensors - whether with an iPhone, an Android device or voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant. Combined with other Matter-enabled devices, Eve Weather enables smart automations.
Pricing & Availability
Eve Weather costs 79.95 Euro and is available from Eve and Amazon. The HomeKit model remains available, and Eve offers a free Matter firmware upgrade for existing devices.
About Thread
Thread technology is specifically developed for smart home applications to improve connectivity between devices. Thread creates a mesh network, within which lights, thermostats, outlets, sensors, and more can also talk to each other free of the constraint of having to go through a bridge. If a single device fails, the data packets are simply relayed to the next in the mesh. In short: the network becomes more robust with every additional Thread device.
Mains-powered Thread devices that are always on, such as Eve Energy, can act as router nodes within the Thread network and relay data packets. So, the more of these Full Thread Devices are present in the network, the more stable and greater its reach becomes. Learn more
