Eve Adds Eve Dimmer Switch to Its Matter-over-Thread Family of Devices
Las Vegas, NV – February 25, 2025 – Eve Systems, a leading provider of smart home devices and part of ABB, is expanding its lineup with the launch of Eve Dimmer Switch, a smart light switch with built-in dimming functionality and Matter-over-Thread technology. Designed for seamless integration with all major smart home platforms Eve Dimmer Switch offers precise, flicker-free dimming and intuitive control via voice, app, or automation.
With a hybrid touch button/rocker dimmer design, Eve Dimmer Switch allows for smooth brightness adjustments while maintaining a simple on/off function. It is aligned with Eve Light Switch in terms of both design and price ($49.95 USD / $74.95 CAD), giving users the option to install just the right switch in every room. Built on Thread connectivity, the switch enhances the stability and responsiveness of a smart home network, making automations more reliable. The switch ships to customers in the U.S. and Canada in mid-March and will be available in the Eve store and on Amazon.
“We know how important it is for customers to have choice when it comes to their smart lighting, and a dimmer switch was the natural next step in our family,” said Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve. “With Eve Dimmer Switch, we’re giving users the flexibility to set the perfect brightness for any moment using their finger, app, voice, or automation.”
By keeping a similar design, the same cost, and Matter-over-Thread technology, Eve makes it easy for users to choose the right switch for their needs without compromise. Whether it’s illuminating a room with Eve Light Switch, adjusting brightness with Eve Dimmer Switch, or integrating lighting in scenes with Eve Energy and Eve MotionBlinds, the lineup ensures a seamless, intelligent experience tailored to every home.
Eve Dimmer Switch enables app and voice control, allowing users to adjust their lighting through the Eve app, their preferred platform app or via voice assistants such as Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa. Users can also set automations based on schedules, motion detection, or presence, ensuring lights are always at the right brightness without manual adjustments. For added convenience, peace of mind, and security, the switch can be controlled remotely to turn lights on or off from anywhere.
Designed for single-pole and 3-way switch configurations, Eve Dimmer Switch provides an easy way to upgrade standard lighting setups to smart lighting. The flicker-free dimming ensures smooth, incremental brightness adjustments for a comfortable lighting experience.
As a Matter-enabled device, Eve Dimmer Switch works seamlessly with multiple ecosystems, allowing users to control their lighting from Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. The Eve app, available on iPhone and iPad for devices connected through the Apple Home platform, and on Android for devices connected through the Google Home platform, offers additional customization options, including preferred brightness levels, LED status settings, and on-device scheduling.
Eve Dimmer Switch will be available in mid-March 2025. More details

About Thread
Thread technology is specifically developed for smart home applications to improve connectivity between devices. Thread creates a mesh network, within which lights, thermostats, outlets, sensors, and more can also talk to each other free of the constraint of having to go through a bridge. If a single device fails, the data packets are simply relayed to the next in the mesh. In short: the network becomes more robust with every additional Thread device. Mains-powered Thread devices that are always on, such as Eve Dimmer Switch, can act as router nodes within the Thread network and relay data packets. So, the more of these Full Thread Devices are present in the network, the more stable and greater its reach becomes. Learn more.
About Matter
Jointly developed by Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, Eve, and many other manufacturers, Matter eliminates incompatibilities in the smart home once and for all. Matter-enabled devices are a breeze to integrate into the smart home, enabling everybody in the home to seamlessly access and control devices across smartphones and voice assistants of all major platforms. Learn more. Adding Matter-enabled Eve devices to the smart home is fast and easy – the only other thing that is required is the right hub. Which hub is right depends on which smart home platform(s) the user would like to control their home with. For an overview, visit: www.evehome.com/hub.
