Elgato Avea: Transform your home with dynamic light moods
San Francisco, CA / Munich, Germany – September 1, 2014 — Today, Elgato presented Avea: A smart LED bulb which can be controlled directly using iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth Low Energy technology. A single tap on one of the many enthralling lighting scenes in the accompanying app creates the perfect atmosphere for focused working, a romantic meal or relaxing after a hard day's work. Setting up Avea is a breeze: Simply screw in the bulb then download and start the app from iTunes. Avea can be controlled directly using iPhone without a bridge.
Avea is available now for a suggested retail price of 39.95 Euro. Avea will also be showcased at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, Germany, on Elgato's booth (hall 15, booth 222).
Dynamic lighting, a breeze to set up
The Avea app offers a selection of seven dynamic scenes and colors with fully adjustable brightness levels. The scenes are truly impressive, with fluid color transitions which are even more impressive when used in conjunction with multiple Aveas. When the Wake-Up Light function is activated Avea will turn on 15 minutes before the configured wake-up time, glow gradually brighter, and then play a wake-up sound via the app such as soothing birdsong or a favorite song from the library. Setting up and using Avea is a real breeze as it can be controlled directly using iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth low energy – plus it doesn't require a bridge even when using multiple bulbs. Pairing the app and Avea takes just a few seconds, so the color show can begin in no time at all. The Avea app controls up to ten bulbs which can be controlled separately or together.

Avea costs 39.95 Euro and is available now from the Elgato online shop and select resellers. The Avea app is free and available in the App Store. Devices must meet the following requirements: iPhone 4S or later, iPod touch (5th generation), iPad mini or iPad (3rd generation or later) all running iOS 7.1 (or later).
